Precautions
Essential safety information for Ripple (Sildenafil Citrate) Tablets. Read carefully before use and discuss with your healthcare provider.
A medical history and physical examination of the patient should be performed to diagnose erectile dysfunction and determine potential underlying causes before considering drug treatment.
Tell your healthcare provider about all medicines you take
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Sildenafil tablets may affect the way other medicines work, and other medicines may affect the way sildenafil works — causing unexpected side effects.
Use with caution in the following cases
Sildenafil tablets require particular care in the conditions listed below. Your physician will assess suitability before prescribing.
Cardiovascular
There is a potential for cardiac risk of sexual activity in patients with pre-existing cardiovascular disease. Treatments for erectile dysfunction, including Sildenafil tablets, should not generally be used in men for whom sexual activity is inadvisable because of their underlying cardiovascular status.
Prolonged Erection & Priapism
Prolonged erection (>4 hours) and priapism (painful erections >6 hours) have been reported. Use with caution in patients with anatomical deformation of the penis (such as angulation, cavernosal fibrosis, or Peyronie's disease), or in patients predisposed to priapism.
Effects on the Eye
Stop use and seek immediate medical attention in the event of sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. This may be a sign of NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy) — a rare condition associated with PDE5 inhibitor use that can cause permanent vision loss.
Hearing Loss
Stop taking Sildenafil and seek prompt medical attention in the event of sudden decrease or loss of hearing. Hearing loss has been reported in temporal association with PDE5 inhibitor use.
Hypotension with Alpha-blockers
Caution is advised when PDE5 inhibitors are co-administered with alpha-blockers and antihypertensive medications. Concomitant use of these two drug classes can lower blood pressure significantly, potentially causing dangerous hypotension.
Combination with Other PDE5 Inhibitors
The use of Sildenafil in combination with other PDE5 inhibitors or other erectile dysfunction therapies is not recommended. Such combinations significantly increase the risk of adverse reactions.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Ripple offers no protection against sexually transmitted diseases including HIV. Patients should be counseled about protective measures necessary to guard against sexually transmitted infections.
Not for Women or Children
Sildenafil tablets are not for use in women or children. This medication is strictly intended for adult men only and must not be administered to any other patient population.
Renal & Hepatic Impairment
Use with caution in patients with hepatic and renal impairment. Reduced organ function can alter sildenafil metabolism and clearance, increasing the risk of adverse effects. Your physician may adjust the dose accordingly.
Overdose
Doses of 200 mg did not increase efficacy but increased adverse reactions including headache, flushing, dizziness, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, and visual disturbances. In overdose, adopt standard supportive measures. Renal dialysis is not expected to accelerate sildenafil clearance due to high plasma protein binding.
Always use under medical supervision
